The International Conference on Human Sustainability (INSAN) was established in response to the growing need to address future issues and challenges related to human sustainability through multidisciplinary perspectives in the social sciences and humanities. Since its inception, INSAN has been successfully organized in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024, attracting more than 1,000 participants and presenters from countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, Japan, Nigeria, Italy, Iran, and Iraq.

For its 9th edition in 2026, INSAN will be convened under the theme “Humanising the Digital Era: Sustaining Humanities, Values, and Civilisation.” The conference is expected to attract wider participation from academics and researchers across diverse universities and countries, fostering critical dialogue on the role of humanities and ethical values in shaping a sustainable digital future.
